'Just take credit card payment' - how many opportunities are we missing with this default thinking?

Dave challenges our preconceptions about customer experience design. When mapping customer journeys, we bring assumptions to the table without questioning them. "We're going to take payment and we're going to use credit card payment, whatever it is."

But what if customers want different payment options? What if they prefer digital wallets, buy-now-pay-later, or methods we haven't even considered? We never even explore these alternatives because we're constrained by how we've always done it.

The future? Systems that can adapt to ANY payment method the customer prefers. But first, we need to stop limiting ourselves in the planning stage.
